I will prolly see the movie... but I will go in with very low expectations and probably use one of my free movie passes at the local theatre.

After all, the GAME wasn't that great. Just played on a cool concept that was executed (no pun intended) somewhat behind the times.

Ugg, I'm going to go see it, but they've completely slaughtered the true storyline and history of 47. 47 doesn't work for some stupid underground church. He works for a professional agency that hires assassins for monetary profit. They don't even have his custom silverballers, and this whole guns ablazing thing is so stupid. Not to mention the cliche arms crossed across his chest thing and then spreading them out to both sides and shooting and tearing up the room. 47's a SILENT ASSASSIN, not some Rambo figure.

I cringe to think what they'll do when they make movies of Splinter Cell or Thief.

I agree fuzzy. I thought the whole concept was to be unseen and silent? Not throw your coat open revealing and arsenal of weapons and then lighting the place up.

This is a poster from the movie:

Which was adapted from the poster from the game:

IMO they should have stuck with the poster from the game. The poster from the game is far more elegant, complete with the immaculate suit and the tie flowing in the wind. And that damned arms crossed thing. Sure, 47 did that in a couple of the posters for the game, but not ALL THE TIME like the movie seems hell bent to portray.

Pretty much. Hitman's in a totally different genre from the rest of the FPS type games. Along with Thief and Splinter Cell, Hitman helped define the entire stealth genre. I can't think of a single instance in any official part of the game where he went around guns ablazing. Even in levels where he is swarmed by guards and seemingly cornered, there's always a way to win the level by raising 0 suspicion and killing 0 guards. 47 probably uses a bullet in only 10% of his hits. The other 90% are by creating accidents, using lethal injections, using fibrewire, using disguises to get close to his target, etc.

Is this the trailer that was at the beginning of WAR that showed some hot chick getting funky with Mr. Hitman?

yep. It's like they (its in the game too) said,
"oh that sounds pretty and serious at the same time."
"what does it mean?"
"I don't know, let's use it anyway."

As for butchering the storyline, who cares? It wasn't that that great to begin with.
