What exactly did Mao do to get labelled a 'badass'. If you have any history of his Long March, i think you would know he was the underdog, and did what he did because he believed in making things better.

Hitler, Stalin, Ghengis Khan, Alexander the Great would all be good... maybe not even Stalin, because he wasn't that expansionist aside from some neighboring countries.

the cultural revolution was a big mistake but it definitely was not a "genocide". the whole nation was basically in a crazed/rioting state, a lot of ppl died/suffered in it but it was not systematic killing, nor was it based on race. that figure looks grossly exagerrated as well.
