Oh, what a shame. And here I've been waiting with baited breath for RedSquirrel's version for more than a week. 🙁

Fucking stupid.
"I dont like it therefore it should not exist"
Thats actually the hallmark of Hitler style thinking.
And it was free advertising for the movie and probably kept it popular.
Fucks.

These were parodies and therefore should be protected no?

They used the original video, so it could be argued they were not parodies but ripoffs. Like if you took all the star wars movies and rechopped them to make a whole new movie, but with all of Lucas's stuff.
You used someone elses work to make a profit for yourself. Its wrong.
BUT, I dont think anyone make any money off the Hitler ripoffs, nor did they cause the original studio to lose money, so I dont see the problem.

These copyright holders are being short sighted in my opinion. I had never heard of the film until all the parodies showed up. It looked really good so I bought the DVD. I guess I should take it back.

Extremely petty on the studio's part. Shows how problematic the DMCA is in an online society. Based on a vary outdated model.

lol. I can't remember how many members here have asked what movie those clips were from.

damn good advertising. shame.

I had seen the movie before the meme started, but I still think this is bullshit.

I have convinced a lot of people to watch that movie by showing them one of those hitler videos.

The hitler video meme is a testament to how amazing the acting is in that movie

Companies pay ad agencies stacks of cash trying to figure out how to be the next viral thingie on the web.

They were handed it on a golden platter...

Good thing the lawyers were put into play instead of the sales guys.

Hitler is not amused

Same.

I think I read an interview with the director who finds them hilarious and watches the ones people sent him. I think he listed a couple of his favorites and he was totally cool with people doing it.

Then again - It's not like he's the one doing the takedowns I imagine, the studio probably is 🙁 so dumb.

I never would have watched it if it weren't for the meme

I know it wouldn't be in my netflix queue if it wasn't for that meme ><
