Does anyone else feel that Disney just mutilated this movie, especially since they handed it over to an inexperienced director who'd never done anything? What a fuggin mistake. This movie coulda been soo much better.

I never expected it to be, but I'm judging it just as a movie. As a movie alone, it was terrible, and the directing was just amatuerish.

I could be wrong, but I dont think so.

Great movie. I think the casting was absolutely perfect, especially Marvin's voice. I'm reading the books again after seeing the movie and the visualization of the movie characters as their respective roles in the book really works out well.

It was the first movie in ages I've laughed out loud at consistently throughout the movie.

I love the BBC version, I used to watch in on the local PBS station, public telivision worth watching
