Please don't recompress it. Plenty of mpeg decoders around.

I'm sure alot of us will want to burn to CD. Less compression the better.

Wag,

Sky is pumping out radio at a high quality, i've heard it compared to the highest quality DAB radio i've heard on the same speakers. It's probably the best quality I could ever get in my house. Much better than DAB, because they have castrated DAB, and 128kbps MP2 is probably equal to ~96kbps MP3.

Recording it via analogue from Sky is the only way, and as I said, it's the highest quality way I can do it. If you don't like it, then tough, but I shall continue to do it.

Thank you, for you are a prince among men.

I said I appreciated it, but a direct digital capture is always the best way.
I'm not familiar with the UK satellite systems and the way BBC stations are carried on them.

I'll probably end up buying it on CD once it comes out anyways.

I'm just half way in listening to the audio book version of the first book. Wonderful humour. can't wait to finish it and listen to the new ones. This series rocks!

Whoa, they've got it up in 5.1 now? It's too bad I only have my living room PC hooked up via a standard headphone connection.

For all you HHGTTG fans, it is returning to it's rightful home, radio, on the 21st of September 🙂 It's aired at 6:30pm GMT on BBC Radio 4, and repeated on Thursdays at 11pm, after which it will be available to listen via the web for a week!

This is the radio adaptation of the third book, with most of the original radio cast, and the addition of Douglas Adams himself as Agrajag (thanks to all this clever modern technology lark)

I really can't wait! 😀

Thanks for the recordings. Downloaded them @ 250-400 KB/sec. (well, one is done, the big one is still going) 😀

thats weird, i just listened to the radio one on bbc.co.uk and compared it to the one Confused posted... they're different!?

Hehe. After 10 attempts, I finally got my wavefinder working well enough to record an entire episode. Unfortunately, a rather vicious electrical storm didn't help the reception, so there are a couple of glitches.

Anyway, help yourself:
Digital radio rip (MP2; 25.7 MB)

Yeah, sorry about that - but I tried to record every episode on both occasions they were aired, and like I said, it took 10 attempts to get it to work. Now I remember why I nearly threw my wavefinder out 18 months ago.

Anyway, it's now out on CD, so you should be able to get it in all its glory.
