Question Hitachi Hardrive

Hitachi/HGST were the most reliable drives I ever used. I would not buy a "refurbished" one though, who knows how many hours are on it! Try to find an unused one if you can.

I still have my old as dirt Hitachi 1TB drive around here somewhere. I used it up until about maybe 1 years ago, when I replaced it with a bigger drive in my NAS/PMS.

i would trust a HGST He# refurb over a new seagate ANY day of the week month year.

The ultrastar is a different story... i still haven't gotten over how they used to be called deathstar back when ibm owned the IP.

It was the IBM Deskstar that earned that name, as far as I recall. I don't think Hitachi's Ultrastars were ever part of that debacle, but it was a long time ago.
