Read the rebate details carefully!

Yes, as far as I can tell from Hitachi's site, it must be a HDS728080PLAT20. According to the specs I found here, there is only 2MB cache on this drive.

This kind of looks like the 80 gig has 8 MB.

40 and 80 GB PATA and the 40GB SATA have 2MB cache. 80GB SATA has 8MB cache.

Also, the Fry's website says it's a 1 year warranty. Hitachi 2MB drives used to have a 1 year warranty until April 25th 2005 then all Deskstar products have a 3 year warranty.
