Of course. All of the good vendors are in CA. And don't forget, the new tax rate went up this past month.

I just placed my order. It came to $87.39 including tax.

You know what they say... if you go somewhere and the place sucks ppl will talk about it 10times more. And if you like the place you mention it to only a few people. PS - I just made this statistic so it's probably false since all numbers are made up.

My point being is.. HDD's are a toss up. Some go bad some go good for 10yrs. If it has a warranty just buy it.

This is OEM, meaning it doesn't have much of a warranty...correct?

According to the ZZF website (who has a similar deal), this unit has a 3 yr. parts & labor warranty.

You got it the other way around.
OEM drives usually come with full warranty from the HD manufacturer.
It's the retail drives that get the little and short warranty.

New Egg shipping has always been superb with the dozens and dozens of drives I have purchased from them. Always bubble wrapped and tightly packed peanuts so there is not banging around.

This is a fabulous price on a good performing 1TB drive. Very tempted....

What's with the 16mb cache-- how does it affect performance versus the 32mb cache that a lot of the TB+ harddrives seem to be carrying standard? Any noticeable difference?

i have this drive and a seagate with 32mb... can't tell the difference sitting in front of them... if you were doing db lookups or something maybe it'd show a difference... hdtune says they're virtually identical...
