We used to throw bagels out on the ice when our high school hockey team played St. Jewish Park (Or was that St. Louis Park, MN?) Where all the Jews in the state seem to reside.

Of course we got the typical "antisemitism" speeches by our teachers and school staff but it was fun. We were kids just being kids.

The funny part is. If it was "hit a Christian day", nobody would care.

Sounds like just Kids being Kids.

What if it was "hit a black" day? I cant believe this forum sometimes.....

Surely you can see the difference between kids that are making fun of someone's religious persuasion and kids that are making fun of race.

slap a Jew day, shortly followed by "kick a Muslim" day, which is just before "starve a Buddhist" day and every other Tuesday is "spit on a Christian" day. Bahai get to celebrate all of those days.

I don't know, I went to a high school where people had to be of a minimum 130 IQ and we all made fun of each other's religions simply to be ironic.

But then I don't believe that 'jew' is a race any more than I believe 'Italian' is a race.

No I dont see the difference. Race or religion... it's evil.

If it is hate then i agree. If it's difference finding meant for irony's sake then It's just silly.
the students were hit on the back of their shoulders but one student was slapped in the face.
Is that hate? or just one chick being a bich?

If anything stupid things like that are about the ironic meaninglessness and social commentary to be had when mocking things like "Spirit Week".

I'm sure you don't get this because you're color uniform is showing, but the problem is this concept of teaching our children to "have school spirit" and telling them that sectioning off in order to drum of tribe mentality is a good thing.

If it was hit a Christian day, the evangelicals would be out in force pretending Christians are an oppressed minority when in fact they are the vast majority.

~80% say they are christian.

Most like chocolate. Who doesn't like chocolate? You'd have to be weird to not like chocolate. Who would admit to not liking chocolate?

[Most of the above 80% are not fundies.]

Sure...and some kids who are being kids need to be punished severely so that they can learn right from wrong.

I agree the kids need to be punished, I just don't think we should be calling the Hague though.

This seems like an innocent(ish) childish error. The pertinent part of this whole situation is that they were having all kinds of "Days" and those "Days" were going to an increasingly Silly direction. Eventually they ran into a "Day" where finally people took notice.

Middle Schools kids are still pretty young and impressionable. Think this is a product of their parents raising or just kids being kids?

Honestly, from playing online multiplayer video games, I think a lot of kids just think "jew" is a funny word.

Not that that makes it right.

There are still lots of folks out there who think that Jews have horns on their heads.
