Hit a goose at 60mph - now car is leaking

Garage just called me - they said the entire radiator needs to be replaced because its leaking the fluid. They're pricing it at $550 with labor...is that reasonable?

They also said the "AC Coolant Condenser" shifted on impact, and that should be replaced too. That's another $300.

I've never worked with this garage before since I'm at school and not home...are these reasonable figures?

Sounds reasonable to me actually. A dealer would be even more most likely.

According to motoralldata pricing (not always correct).
Factory radiator=$450.00
Factory A/C condenser=$800.00

Labor from alldata (which alot of shops go by).
Radiator=2.1hrs.
Condenser=1.8hrs.
Now there is a definite overlap in labor so they should be adjusting that accordingly (maybe knocking an hour off because they are all ready in there)
Also the above 1.8hrs. does not include evacuating and recharging the system, which is another 1.5hrs.+
Hope that helps.

$1500 in parts and 4 hrs labor min = $1800-2000 total

As another stated - you should have comprehensive coverage w/ deductible.
Eat the deductible and the goose. Let insurance handle the feathers.

This. Insurance would also take care of the cracked grill and the car should perform (and look) like it did before the goose 'incident'. I hit a raccoon in my Mazda6 years ago and had similar damage, although it was all body damage. The repairs were still $3000+ for a new bumper, trim, and wheel-well damage. That's why you have insurance! These types of claims are usually comprehensive anyway (acts of god) and don't raise your rate specifically.
