I've recently become obsessed with the roman times, medieval, etc etc. and was wondering what key books or documentaries I could get to further my knowledge! any recommendations?

any other history book (must haves) would be cool too.

Of course, he was an arrogant blowhard that figured he'd mastered mathematics, philosophy and every other art so turned to seduction.
She was the teenage chick he seduced by taking a position as tutor in her uncle's house and "spanking her just to keep up appearances" in between screwing her whenever they could find a quiet spot at church.

Naturally this went well, with him falling in love with her and her protesting that he could not deprive the world of his brilliance by marrying her and distracting him from his academic genius.

He prevailed, married her and when she got pregnant he temporarily sent her off to a convent for some reason.

This would have been fine and dandy but her uncle, still clueless about the tutor-student "privileges" for some reason finally got suspicious and, thinking that Abelard had dumped his pregnant niece, broke into his house in the middle of the night and castrated him.

He goes on to become an abbot, she goes on to become an abbess under his jurisdiction, and he writes her pompous religious letters and she writes him status updates asking for advice on how to deal with her (suspiciously detailed) horniness.

Yep, Medieval lit in college. Good times.
