Done by some expat Youtuber, done pretty well. It even includes the legend 'fairy tale' story of Korea's origin which I grew up reading myself.

He didn't good a good job portraying how suddenly Korea split into NK/SK.

-Japan annexed Korea from 1910 to 1945.

-After Japan retreated post WW2 (Axis defeat), Korea has been fucked under Japan rule for over 30 yrs (not just a rule, Korea culture/language/identity were getting eradicated by Japan). Korea suddenly had new found freedom with a vulnerable govt. (around late 1940s)

-This was at the height of Cold War starting, so Allies & Axis tore up Korea and elected their own puppet countries, frankly. Soviet Union helped elect Kim Il Song in NK, and Allies (principally USA) helped elect Prez Rhee in SK.

-Kim Il Song is the father & grandfather of Kim Jong Il & Kim Jong Un today.

-So that's why we got this weird ass socialist-turned-totalitarian regime that is NK today and Republic of Korea (SK) today.

Modern history of Korea is VERY fun too which the vid entire skipped. (1950s to today).

SK's constitution is pretty much adapted from US constitution- freedom of press, speech, religion, etc.

But SK was plagued by dictatorship and corruption of its own. It was basically 'democracy' at face, but this brutal mofo Park ChungHee ruled as the prez for nearly 30 yrs from 1961 to 1979, until his ass got assassinated by Korea's equivalence of CIA Director.

Some revisionists or his supporters say he brought amazing modernization of Korea today- round the clock developments of LG, Samsung, Hyundai, etc.

HIS daughter is the dumbshit bitch Park Geun Hae that got her ass impeached this morning.

Moved from OT.

I'm confused. Am I supposed to watch this while I'm pooping? Or is the video titled "If you give a poop" as if Japan shat all over Korea?

It could assist in understanding why a Japanese-American who is "language-challenged" can hate Obama, or why Little Kim threw a tantrum after O's election so that O had to send two Blackbird Bombers from White Man air base as a "message."

I have a theory that a cultural change occurred on the Korean Peninsula as a result of the Japanese occupation. When South Korea and Japan had moved on in progress, DPRK was stuck in Time. A Stalinist regime under Grandfather Kim because a Fascist and criminal regime still calling itself "communist."

North Korea is almost as big of a Blight on the World as Trump is a scourge to what was once "America."

I don't have sound, I'll watch it later tonight, but is the guy doing the talking even Korean? Or of Korean descent? If not I find this offensive.

Nope, but he does use plenty of Korean (he teaches it, apparently) and is quick to disclaim that it's a brief overview that will gloss over things by necessity (otherwise it'd be a gigantic video). Think of him as an emissary explaining the basics of Korean history to a global audience.
