Way too few good shows on either.
Mythbusters and some special here and there is pretty much it.
(and history tends to have better specials recently)

They're all pandering to the average American: a moron. This forum is filled with smarter than average people. I think that intelligent people are more turned off by the crap that they show any more.

I used to love History and Discovery channels. Now they're just shells of their former selves. I don't learn anything from them anymore - same with SciFi Channel. They all caved to showing brainless reality TV dribble.

They are both horrible. History International is okay, but even they are going the inevitable route to suckage. PBS is the only american station making good documentaries anymore. BBC does some good stuff as well if you can get it.

yep :(

I liked so many shows on both channels but it's not the same anymore. They really have watered down their content some. Before it was like 70% fact, 30% presentation maybe, and now it's 10% fact 90% presentation.

I get that there is some entertainment value, but they've both ramped it way up.

History International now delivers history programming.

Seriously though I hope the guy who greenlit Ice Road Truckers and Ax Men on the HISTORY channel gets hit by either a truck or a falling log.

Military Channel is my cup o' tea. IMO, History Intl is what the old History Channel usta be .. between those two, I'm happy.
