Intellectuals such as Howard Zinn and Noah Chumski who defend the mass murderers of the world are on the same level of those mass murderers. Stalin was repeatedly defended by the left and the NY Times even while he inflicted a forced famine in the Ukraine. The Camobdian genocide was caused by US actions in SE asia, not the Khamer Rouge and Pol Pot.

Even today, the left wing intellectuals defend Chavez and Castro (look up La Cabana Fortress to see how political dissent is handled in Cuba).

the major issue with Zinn is that he had such a strong influence over american education.

chomsky is an over-glorified political commentator without a moral compass.

but he is bigger in europe than anywhere else.

zinn, on the other hand, is just an evil person who promotes historical revisionism and propaganda.

Although there are many differences of opinion between myself and Zinn, he has some good points as well. I agree with much of what he has said about Iraq, where people just accept whatever the government says. On the other hand he has great faith in the same institution on other issues. I think that's a rather naive viewpoint. In all cases government should be regarded with skepticism if for no other reason than people with badges and guns tend to use them and as citizens we are superior to the government, never the reverse.

Nevertheless, I would think that an evening spent discussing things with him over a few good brews would be most enjoyable.

I don't get the angst.

Explain the negative impacts of this.
