Hello all!
I just picked up a Hisense 50U6G TV to use as an additional display.
Initially when I tried to use it, I set it up with a Display Port-HDMI cable, and Windows would only recognize it as a "Generic Non-PnP Monitor", and wouldn't do anything with it other than acknowledge its existence.
After fiddling with HDMI ports on the TV and unplugging/regplugging/restarting/etc, trying to uninstall/reinstall, and reinstall with different drivers, Windows simply no longer sees the device at all.
I have restarted the machine numerous times, unplugged and replugged the TV, gone through all the different HDMI ports again, and updated the video drivers.
Windows still won't even detect the TV when connected. Doesn't even show up in Device Manager nor after attempting to scan for hardware changes.
EDIT: TV does work when plugged into a laptop I've got, works fine through there, just not the computer I need it on.
Computer specs for reference
Win10
Core I5--6600K
16GB RAM
nVidia GTX 960
any thoughts?
