My main questions is-

How is the fan on this thing? Loud? Quiet? Does it cool well?

Also, is this card worth it? Or should I spend 10 bux less for a 50% chance to get a C3D Unlockable x800gto (that runs very hot I hear)?

it's a ati silencer. very quiet and cools very well. only better stock cooler imho is the asus extreme editions with vf700s.
your choice on weather you want much better cooling or potential for much better performance. btw, i highly suggest you get a new cooler if you are going to unlock and overclock the c3d card.

What about this compared to the FireBlade? They both overclock very well, which one is cooler and quieter?

overclocking is luck of the draw, but i'd say the his has a better cooler. it's copper plate to a substantial aluminum fins. pretty heavy coooler. the fireblade uses a stock x850xt cooler which is all copepr but it's thin copper. both use 1.6ns ram rated at 1250mhz ddr so ehh... probably a wash though i would think the his cooler wouldbe better.

hmm this is the video card i have been looking at getting i heard it is a good overclocker to speeds around 550/1200 which is somewhat better than a 7800gt but only 12 pipes

It definatly will not perform on par with a 7800GT, but for $195, it looks pretty good.

Now.. this or the x800GTO2 or the Fireblade...

it is. for the price, you would be getting basically a x850xt or x850xtpe. a 16pipe card at 550/1100 will be much faster than a 12pipe card at 550/1100.

ugh, now i'm unsure. I want to go with the x800GTO2, will I have to buy another VGA cooler (Zalman?) or is it fine oc'ed on the reg one.

the regular cooler is decent but no means spectular, let alone good.
a vf700 or ati silencer would be a good upgrade.
