I was just going to comment on this. Saw it at SlickDeals yesterday.

How much better is this 4850 card over the EVGA 512-P3-N980-AR GeForce 9800 GT Hybrid Power the Egg has for $105 shipped AR and has Enemy Terriotory: Quake Wars with it?

I'm putting together a budget gaming system and want to have enough video power to play at 1920x1200.

The HD4850 will perform more consistently but if the game is optimized correctly, the 3870X2 will win out.

I would say maybe 10-15% better. If you're wanting to play at 1920x1200, you should be looking at a HD4870 or two of these 4850s in Crossfire.

I have both and the 3870x2 is the more powerful card. Given the power draw and the size of it though I would go for the 4850 if I was looking for a new card.

Edit: Seems to be back in stock
