HIS 4870 1GB Power Connection Issue

Ok this is frustrating.

Just built a new rig:
Intel C2D E8500
4GB OCZ DDR2 6400
HIS 4870 1GB
Gigabyte GA-EP45
Seagate Barracuda 500 GB SATA 32MB buffer
OCZ ModXStream 600W Power Supply

So the issue arises when I turn on the PC it acts normal then I get a beeping and the screen flashes "You have only connected one 6 pin connector to your video card. Please reference the quick reference blah blah blah..."

Now or some reason my PSU only came with one 6 pin connector so I have tried using that in tandem with the conversion piece for 1 6 pin to 2 4 pin connectors and I have also tried using the standard 6 pin along with another connector that has a 6 pin and a 4 pin on it. No matter which configurations I use I get the same result.

Any suggestions??? Thank you in advance!

Hopefully the PSU guys can help shed some light on the OP's issues. Moving from Video...

well I have a similar problem with my Zalman ZM750-HP. I dont have enough pci-e connectors to hook up my x2 4870's for CF. So what I am planning to do is run them using 2 of these 6-pin pci-e splitters (http://www.newegg.com/Product/...?Item=N82E16812201008). I was told by a PSU guru on another forum that it would work if your psu has enough power on one rail, and Im not sure if yours does. Worst case scenario, if you have 4 unused molex connectors you could get 2 4-pin molex->6-pin pci-e connectors and hook it up that way, link= http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16812200106. I bought 2 that I wont be needing, so if you need some, let me know.

Thanks spacegoast!

Sounds like good advice. I will give that Y splitter a try. Should cut down on clutter as well!

Thanks again!

Well for any of those who read this I got the PC to post and am currently installing Vista Ultimate 64. My best guess was it had something to do with either how my memory was seated or how my connectors on the modular PSU were connected. Either way it is working and I am not one to kiss a gift horse in the mouth.

Thanks again for your help!
