If a corporation, be it non-profit or faith-based, is taking Federal Dollars, then they should have to follow Federal Rules and Regulations concerning how they run the business?including hiring practices. This is a free country! If they do NOT want to hire certain types of people, they can stop accepting government handouts!!! People complain about the gays wanting to force their ?morality? on us?having the SA say they want to discriminate is the same thing, and they want to use MY money to do it!
<< No one has the right to dictate to me what i should teach my children in regards to morality as long as i am not teaching them to hate. So stop with that damn homophobe bullsh!t it doesn't apply. >>
If you are telling them that homosexuality is a sin, or that it is ?bad,? then you are teaching them stereotyping and a form of racism. Racist thoughts can lead to hate.
Homosexuals are not ?taught? to be that way; if you think different, just speak to Phylis Schafley or Newt Gingrich about ?teaching? homosexuality as it pertains to their blood relatives. If the influence of a Christian Conservative Republican upbringing is not enough to defeat the subversive teaching of homosexuality, then the upbringing is rather weak. YOU are the most influential person in your child?s life. Unless you abrogate that authority to the schools, any ?morals? they pick up there will be secondary to your influence.
<< An openly gay man who talks mega effemite applies for a job.
You personally have nothing against this guy, however you know for a FACT that there's a lot of people in this town who don't like gay's and hiring this guy will cost you business, take food off your family's table, and possibly put you out of business.
Do you hire him, or do you say: "I'm sorry, the position is no longer available." >>
Gay people have to buy hardware too, you know. And they spend, per capita, more on ?adult? implements (i.e., stuff you find in hardware stores) than people with kids. Their average income is higher. And they are spread fairly evenly throughout the population. In other words, this ?mega effeminate? guy may drive away some persons, but he might actually increase your business by having the closeted gays in the county preferring to come there.
<< Wrong again. We do not "hate" gays because we think they are inferior, or dangerous. I, personally, do not like them because I think it is severly wrong, AND it IS a bad influence IMO, AND they usually ARE messed up!
And
Homosexual activity is a behavioral choice that I do not have to approve of by a true Constitutional right. If such behavior is not appropriate for my organization I'm not going to hire them - period. How could you possibly legitimately believe it would be appropriate for an organization to be forced to hire someone in direct conflict with their core doctrine? >>
You are certainly free to hold whatever stupid opinions you want; just do not try to impose them on others by making such opinions part of your hiring practices. And if you are part of the KKK, for example, you can keep out anyone you want. Just don?t go asking the Federal Government to subsidize your bigotry. If you try, be prepared to have me shove MY morality in your face.
