Hired to work at Target. Likely to fail drug test? Will they reject the hire?

I know somebody who's been a naughty boy and, thought he got hired to work at Target, he has to take a drug test. He expects to fail but is hopeful that they are not strict on their policy enough, which I find gleefully optimistic. Do you know from experience what the situation will be?

Pee test I take it? Depends on how recently said person did drugs. Most are out of your system within a couple days to less than a week. With chronic cannabis smokers, it can be detected for a month+ after they quit.

I worked at Target. You go to a 3rd party firm. The firm they used on me was fairly strict. Typical drug testing place that actually tested alot of hardcore druggies, meaning no doors, no running water, colored water, etc. Fairly strict urine test. PM me if you need information on increasing the odds of passing.

In my experience, Target was pretty by the book, so if you fail the drug test you won't get hired. Note that this was a good uh, 7-8 years ago.

Wal-Mart might keep you, I doubt Target would. Target's pretty damn restrictive on their policies. I know someone that couldn't make it into work 3 times in the first 3 months because of legitimately poor weather and they got canned because of it. That place doesn't $%#@ around, but I heard from friends that work there that just like most other retail places, it still sucks working there.

Yup, 2nd worst place I ever worked. Quit w/o giving 2 weeks notice and never looked back.

Surely enough, out of all the youngin's that worked there, half of them did drugs. Drug testing just means you were clean enough on the day of the test.

I've always wondered why someone would do drugs while they were looking for work. I mean, there's the obvious reason; the job you accept may well require a piss test, and you don't want to fail. But beyond that, if you're looking for a job, it's a fair bet to say you don't have much disposable income. If you don't have money, you shouldn't be doing drugs. You're either spending the money you don't have on drugs, which is stupid, or bumming drugs off friends, which is obnoxious. That and if you're totally fucked up all the time, you're not going to be terribly motivated to find work, nor are you going to do all that well in an interview.

I'm not saying drugs are bad, but you probably shouldn't be doing them while looking for work.

I agree and your logic is spot-on, too But you need to start thinking like a drug user and not a drug-user, then you'll know why they do it.
