Your first mistake was living with someone that would have a Star Trek "party", unless this party involved a Star Trek drinking game. I guess that would be ok.

I suggest politely telling your roommate that it bothers you. If they do it again steal the tank and pawn it. When questioned, just reply quickly, "sorry" and act like it's over.

all the hippies i knew just did lsd, shrooms, smoked some pot, popped some pills and drank a whole lot. this seems so uncharacteristic!!!

seriously, though, i would not let that happen again. i mean, i dont codemn drug use but i used to have a room mate who had a SUITCASE of drugs and i told him that he simply could not keep it in the room nor bring it to the room. i made him keep it in his car; if he wanted to do drugs, he'd have to find someplace not our room.
i just feel like it is inviting trouble.
