when you get to the point of having a driver, and less being able to call for a ride 24/7 you realize how impractical they are. Yet the poor think "WOW! fucker didn't bring his driver with him!"

DUI = revenue not lives really, you sheep are easy to herd.

I completely disagree. Look at the number of Alcohol related fatalities every year. http://www.alcoholalert.com/drunk-driving-statistics.html

You don't think the drop from 60% to 32% over the last 25 years has anything to do with strict DUI laws?

True, a co-worker got caught last year, total cost so far is 6K in fines, probation, ect. Now he has to carry a fr-22 endorsement on his insurance for 3 years so his insurance is now $310/month, now I agree he brought this on himself but it's to the point where he's struggling to keep his car on the road and to get to work in it..

sounds like it'll make him think twice about DUI-ing next time.

From the Atlanta Journal-Constitution here:

"According to DeKalb police, Ward was stopped about 2:30 a.m. on Buford Highway near Briarwood Road after an officer noticed his Aston Martin failing to maintain lane and hitting a curb.

Ward failed a field sobriety test, and refused to take a breathalyzer test. He told officers he been at a downtown club, and had had two drinks.

According to police, a passenger in Ward’s car had not been drinking, and he was allowed to drive the car instead of it being impounded."

So we don't know what his BAL was but seeing how he had a passenger that could drive disappoints me. Maybe this will be a wake up call for him.
