LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Paris Hilton will serve about half of her 45-day jail sentence and will be separated from the general inmate population, authorities said Wednesday.

Did anyone here seriously think she wouldn't end up in resort jail? That's simply the way it works, if you're rich or famous, you're better than normal people and get better treatment, at least as far as people in authority are concerned.

If I was famous and rich, I can probably get away with 3-4 murders, despite how much evidence there is against me.

But if those murdered happen to be rich and famous people, then I might get 1-2 years in prison. This probably will depend on how much richer and more famous those other people are.

why is she even rich/famous

shes not good looking, she cant act, she definately cant sing....she cant do anything.

does she just drive around, flashing her gash everytime she exits a vehicle? is that all she does?

but yeah if you are rich/famous...its one rule for you and another for everyone else, its sad, its unfair, but tthats the way it is. you cant beat em....just join em.

I like the way they always get a time period between sentencing and actually serving their time. Joe Blow gets hauled away immediately. The rich and famous get 30 to 180 days to what, get used to the idea?

Her sentence was shortened after jail officials gave her credit for good behavior, Whitmore said. Officials considered several factors in calculating the credit, including that she appeared for her latest court date, he said.

Wow.... I didn't know that:

1) You could get credit for good behavior before your sentence even started!
and
2) Since when is showing up for a court date considered "good behavior"? That reminds me of when trashy morons say stuff like "I take care of my kids yo!". You're SUPPOSED to, that doesn't make you special.

No kidding. It's like rewarding a 12 year old kid for not crapping his pants.

If you've been paying attention to this girl at all for the past 6 years you would see how special this is. Showing up on time is more than just good behavior, it's stellar manners on her part. Now she just has to learn how to deal with white collar prison. It will be a major trauma for her.

I am still a little amazed that America can be so obsessed with such a snotty, ignorant, arrogant, and otherwise totally useless person.

People that think the law should apply the same to everyone. Not that it'll ever happen though.

I really really wanted her to get assaulted in federal fvck-me-in-the-ass prison, just to take her down a notch or three. I hate the special treatment for the rich, it's such bullsh1t. How can anyone pretend that if Joe Schmoe was pulled in for the same offence, he wouldn't be doing 6 months right now?

Yeah, because everyone gets their sentence reduced for good behavior before it even starts

I am not a Hilton apologist and hope she goes mute and dumb (er) while in jail. With that being said, things like this happen all the time whether you are rich and famous, or live near me in TN and are just a straight up Budweiser drinking redneck. How else can you explain some toothless wonder named Jim Bob having charges reduced from DUI to Reckless?
