I think the states elect the president, and I think it's a pretty good idea.
If it’s such a good idea why did no state adopt this method of choosing a chief executive, why do essentially no other countries in the world do it this way, and why is it when we set up democracies in Afghanistan and Iraq we didn’t set it up this way?

Seems to me most people acknowledge it was a bad idea.

Most people would find the following a problem
If those people were taught the constitution and the reasons behind it they would understand why that condition exists.
It's not the united states if four states decide who runs the show. Every state gets a say in who is president. That's a feature, not a bug. Why should Wyoming have no say in who runs the the united states? Why remain in the union if they're denied a say in how it's run?

If we went pure popular vote every single person's vote would be equal. You know there are a LOT of conservatives in California, for example, right?

If they were taught correctly it was to give additional executive power to slave states. Now maybe you think that's fine, but that's why it was done.

As far as four states deciding who the president is, this is a serious misunderstanding of how the vote in the US is structured. That's what the situation is NOW. A national popular vote would end this practice.

Why should Wyoming have no say in who runs the the united states? Why remain in the union if they're denied a say in how it's run?
What you mean here of course is 'Why shouldn't Wyoming get extra bonus say in who runs the United States', right?

So, we should split it. Either the Senate or the Presidency should be elected by straight popular vote, to ensure minority representation. How is it fair that the majority of the people are ruled by the minority of the country?

States wouldn't decide anything, the people would.

Who's saying they shouldn't but the existing situation basically nullifies the wishes the people of California,

We need to increase the amount of Senators adjusting for population. Black people were 3/5 of a human, does that mean it should remain?
