Hillary Makes Another Proposal

Pabster

Story here.

Cost estimate 20-25 Billion annually. Man this woman is really going Socialist. I know that is her ultimate goal, but she's being pretty brash. Between UHC, the $5K Baby Bonds, and this plan... Oh, and, as usual, she plans to tax "the rich" to get the money.

When they take money out of Social Security (or borrow or whatever), the least they could do is use it for this.

I would say it's atrocious, because it is, but it's nothing compared to what Bush has done and cost and other republicans promise to continue doing, so she is still far and away better than the republican nominee will be.

Actually, a gov-endorsed 401k would be great IF it came with a comporable pull-back on social security. I don't like paying SS at all.

Like Pabster, I prefer politicians who are brain dead and never have any ideas.

This would actually be wonderful experiment. Government interference, malfeasance, corruption, and incompetence from both sides in looking for ways to solve all of our problems causes more problems than it is worth sometimes.

Hey, I wonder when Hillary is going to pull an Oprah and start offering everybody a free car?

If Bush had just sat on his hands the last 7 years and done nothing (no wars, no Patriot Act, and on and on), would you have liked him better? Just wondering. A 'Do-Nothing' president sounds like a great idea by comparison.

We have to fight and finally bury the idea of privatizing Social Security," she said

Oddly enough, her plans just boils down to an expansion of SS, albeit a privatized component. The very thing she rails against.

As usual, another *vote buying* scheme. And there are better ways to achieve the objective she espouses.

Hey, if the people of Alaska can get money back from their government, I say so should the rest of America.
How much does each Alaskan get?

Getting money from oil revenues is a hell of a lot different than getting retirement for tax revenues.

More class warfare from the class warfare party.

I wonder how many ideas of take from those who produce and give to everyone else she is going to try.

What peeved me is that those with 50k to 100k get only half credit and those over 100k get no credit.

I want HSAs and I forget the name of the xSA to replace 401ks.... but damn Congress (both repugs and demoncraps) would not sign off on them. Thank goodness for the HSA which allows me to work my healthcare as I see fit

When Bush proposed it three years ago!

This barely resembles the Bush plan. Bush proposed giving people the option to put a small portion of their own money that goes into SS into private accounts where they choose what to invest but it is overseen by the government.

Hillary is proposing taking money from the rich/wealthy and distributing it to everybody.

Nooo. Bush proposed BORROWING money to give to people that they could put into a private account that had nothing to do with SS.

What was that the Bushies used to say back when they had control of the WH, Senate, and House? Oh yeah, "majority rules".

You're kidding, right?

That's a stupid idea. We have a perfectly good Social Security system that we need to shore up instead of putting that money into private accounts. I am still voting for Hillary though.

Do you do anything but lie? Or you just don't know what your talking about?
The Bush plan includes the creation of two new accounts. One, the Retirement Savings Account (RSA), would let individuals contribute as much as $7,500 a year. There is no limit on income of the contributor, but one cannot contribute more than their wages. For married couples filing jointly the maximum contribution is $15,000 even if one of the spouses stays at home. There?s no tax deduction, but earnings and payouts are tax-free when withdrawn after age 59, or after a disability or death.

The other account, the Lifetime Savings Account (LSA), is more interesting. The LSA allows anyone to contribute up to $7,500 a year regardless of income or age. As with the RSA there is no tax deduction and earnings and distributions are tax free. The one difference between the LSA and the RSA is that the LSA has no early withdrawal or other penalties. People could withdraw their money at any time for any purpose and not face taxes or penalties on that money. Add new Employee Retirement Savings Accounts (ERSA) and taxpayers will be able to put away another $15,000.

That does NOT sound like taking anyone's money.

That is so freaking disgusting it makes me ill. It only further shows that her thighness is nothing more than a pure bred communist. Everything that comes out her head is straight from the Marx manifesto. We must keep communists out of the white house.
