She was actually famous for what people considered overstepping her role as first lady.

Remember Hillary care?

She is staunchly anti gun.

Benghazi.

Arab spring.

It would almost be worth it to see Bill as First Gentleman though. Almost.

She'll be nearly 70 in 2016. Too fucking old to run a country. Couldn't even keep up as a Secretary of State.

Watergate - Fired for lying and unethical conduct
Whitewater
Benghazi - What difference does it make?

Hillary will be eaten up in the media and debates. I'll be surprised if she even runs.

Word on street is she is planning on running. Who else does the D-Team have?

It is her election to lose IMO. I would think Christie is the only candidate on the GOP side who could compete well with her, and he is probably too sane to be nominated.

sounds about right

Christie is doing the same thing. If he wins the primary I'll vote for him. Otherwise I'll vote D.

in such an election, right now, I would likely vote for Christie. I really like Hillary, but I just don't like the idea of the last 28 or so years being a Bush or Clinton in the White House. That just doesn't sit right with me.

Then again, the Christie that manages to come out of a GOP primary might end up being worse than that version of McCain they created 6 years ago. Tough call.

granted, he had dementia throughout his second term, but that didn't stop the boneheads of this country from re-electing zombie Reagan.

Also, and not that anyone ever knew this at the time because of crazy secrecy, but Woodrow Wilson was practically dead for the last 6-7 months of his presidency, this includes the debate surrounding the ratification of the Treaty of Versailles in the US.

^This

I don't hate her but her career is winding down. It's paid speeches and ghostwritten book releases, maybe a professorship from here out.

She must be gearing up for her 2016 election campaign and wants to stay quiet and out of the crosshairs and say something that can be used against her later.. . . I'm not sure what chance she has. She's got too much of a history going against her. Several of my staunch (D) voting friends have said they probably won't vote for her. . .

I am not convinced she is going to run. If she is doing anything she is sitting back and enjoying the ride. The Republicans are doing more for her or almost any other Democrat than she could ever do at this point in the political cycle.

With a little luck the Republicans will give us a Santorum-Bachman or Santorum-Palin ticket. Having more discussions about rape and abortion would also help.

Benghazi is a huge nothing.

It's amazing to see how excited and energized people get over Benghazi when there are far far more important issues like the economy and health care.

Really? Terrorists storm a U.S. Embassy on 9-11 and kill everybody and it's nothing?
The Obama administration bald-facedly lies to the people and it's nothing?
Hillary refused to beef up security there when they asked for it for months and months and it's nothing?
Hillary conveniently is injured and can't it to the hearings?
Obama refused support and it's nothing?
Oh,It's something.Something Rotten to the core.
Wow;I am astonished at how many people are as dumb as they (The Administration)assume people will be.
There will be more on Benghazi soon.
Wars have been started for less.

Ronald Reagan at age 69 got his chance. So either being that old is a good thing if you like him and his achievements as POTUS or a bad thing if it has anything to do with Hillary? Just ask'in.

I think Hillary has a lot more sauce than Reagan did at that age. She's like that mother-in-law who hangs around like forever just to spite the son-in-law who took her precious baby girl away from her. And with hubby Wily 'ol Bill to back her up, it looks to me that she is just shy of being a shoo-in nightmare for the Repub who goes up against her.

IMO, what's really at stake here is the advancement of the ideology that a politician believes in. In this regard, Hillary will become in essence Obama II in drag, just leaning a bit further right.

Seeing as if the very rich have the bulk of our politicians in their back pockets, it seems to me the worst we can do is vote in another Repub who, like Bush and Reagan, will simply accelerate the hoarding of wealth to the top, whereas voting in a Dem will at the least provide a little more cover for the middle class and the poor.

From my point of view, a lesser evil will always be a better choice.

edit- And speaking of being quiet, I refer you to all of those other pres. hopefuls who are doing the exact same thing, well except for that nutjob Cruz, who seriously thinks representing a small bunch irritating spoiled brat children will get him the presidency.

On the one hand, yes I also think it's a serious matter. On the other, where in the history books do you think this incident will be placed?

An attack on a US embassy is always serious.

What isn't serious, however, is the faux controversy over why and how it happened. It's nothing more than conservative hay being tossed over a tragedy in a vain attempt to score points.

The sheep follow along, naturally.

In my opinion we need a fiscal conservative who will shepherd the massive federal bureaucracy toward being less wasteful, stream line our bloated homeland security dept. and lead a rational foreign policy in the executive. . .One that will not try to infringe upon our rights or use our tax dollars to fund an ideological crusade over seas.

Hillary is the antithesis of such an executive.

Sounds like you should vote libertarian then.

The problem is that a third party lacks the nation wide infrastructure necessary to win a presidential election at this time.

I am cautiously optimistic of Rand Paul. I hope he gains a bit of traction with the Republican leadership.

That would be like Jesse Jackson's 1988 run all over again. "What are your qualifications to be President?" "Ah, um, I ate lots of dinners with some folks who were in office."

She's more qualified than President Obama was, but that's not saying much.
