I read last year she wanted to be a Baptist minister.
Then I read she wanted to be an astronaut but she was told there was no place for women.
Now I'm reading in The Economist that she wanted to be a marine during Vietnam but was turned away because of poor eyesight(link).
What's next, she wanted to be a cop but was told to stay in the kitchen?
I guess it's easy to say these things and get the sympathy vote but I really find them all hard to believe. Something isn't right about these claims. They seem to imply that there has always been this gigantic glass ceiling over her head and she's always tried to break it but came away saddened (but determined?). Has anyone bothered to check them out?
