The only exaggeration I see here is from Hillary bashers who try to make it sound like she doesn't have experience because she didn't get wounded in Bosnia. And if she did get wounded, she'd still get bashed like John Kerry did for not getting wounded bad enough, and if she was really wounded bad enough, she would be bashed like Max Cleland for not getting killed or not being patriotic. It's typical Rovian swiftboater ammo, and it's pretty disgusting, but par for the course for Clinton bashers.

No, the "exaggeration" is from the Clinton trolls like yourself, as usual.

Hillary said verbatim that she remembered vividly events which simply did not occur. Reminds me of John Kerry "vividly" recalling Christmas time in Cambodia. LOL!

People misremember things from that long ago.
Plus that CBS piece is biased. Just because there was no sniper fire hitting them, doesn't mean there was no risk of sniper fire in the area. They don't have sandbags on that outpost for flood control.

Maj. Gen. William Nash, who has since retired but was then the commander of United States troops in Bosnia and was at the Tuzla airport that day, said in an interview that there was no threat of sniper fire at the airport during Mrs. Clinton?s visit. He said she was gracious during her visit and took pictures with the soldiers, who were there to enforce the terms of the Dayton peace accord, signed five months earlier.

?She never had her head down,? General Nash said. ?There was no sniper threat that I know of.?

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03.../25clinton.html?ref=us

really?

That doesn't mean she wasn't told there would be a sniper threat by the secret service.
You really don't get the difference?

She appears to have relayed a clearly innacurate version of her trip to Bosnia, given the news footage. This isn't necessarily a lie. Last week I posted in OT about an episode of a tv show I saw only a few years ago and somehow got the details really wrong, even though I had a very clear memory in my head of how it had happened. I would have said I was 95-100% sure of what I remembered. Then I watched the episode and it was way different from what I had posted.

Memories are malleable. I can see Hillary and Chelsea talking about their trip to Bosnia maybe after they got home, and joking about how there were snipers or about how they survived, etc. Then the joking memories supplant the real ones. I'd be a lot more critical if I didn't just do the same thing. Memory is a funny thing.

Course, I'm a Hillary supporter so she gets my benefit of the doubt, just as Obama supporters give him the benefit of the doubt.

"In interviews Monday, aides to Mrs. Clinton at the time of the trip, as well as an Associated Press photographer who was on the trip, said that she and others were briefed before landing about the possibility of sniper fire around the airport in Tuzla, Bosnia. None of the aides remembered actual sniper fire. Nor did the photographer, Doug Mills, who now works for The New York Times."

Imagine being told that there even was a possibility of snipers when you are about to get off a plane. Imagine walking outside feeling there might be a crosshair on you. I think that would stick in your imagination/memory and you would probably remember the feeling of fear when you recall the situation.
I don't support Hillary at all, but I sort of agree with you on this. Yeah, maybe she flat-out told a lie and knew it. Or, like you said, her memory was just jumbled up. It's not like it's never happened before to anyone.

It seems like it would be a completely stupid thing to lie about, considering the multiple witnesses that were at the event who would have opposing stories (like the AP photographer and that General).

lol.. wow... I knew that most of Clinton's supporters were less educated, but you're ridiculous...

So she's misremembering because someone said there "was the threat" of sniper fire? So this traumatic revelation/information so hindered her mental processes that she cannot properly remember actually doing the greeting ceremony that she specifically claimed didn't happen, nor does she remember meeting the little girl who gave her the poem, nor does she remember that she didn't have to run directly for the cars off the tarmac? Call me a little skeptical, particularly since this speech was prepared and not off the cuff remarks you'd think a little fact checking would be done. She specifically said they had to run straight from the plane to the cars, with their heads down to avoid sniper fire. That's a far cry from saying, "Well, I landed under possible threat of sniper fire."

Still, I'm not sure claiming you were so traumatized by the very mention of a minute possibility of sniper fire that you cannot recall the event since you've suppressed it so deep in your memory because it was so traumatic is really good PR when trying to claim this as one of the feathers in your hat of foreign policy experience.

Oh J H-fvcking C... seriously?! 😕

Have you ever been under direct fire? Have you ever been forced to run to your vehicle, or take cover? No? Well, let me share something with you: these are not "malleable" memories, by any stretch of your spinmaster imagination.

Then there's the whole "no greeting ceremony" and "had to be moved indoors" bullsh*t that turned out to be blatantly false...

Another Clinton fvcking told another bold-faced lie. Period.

people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones... wasn't it just last week ago that Obama went from "I never heard my pastor making controversial statements" to "I heard my pastor making controversial statements."?

First of all, whether she was under fire or not has nothing to do with foreign policy experience, since the actual travel details have nothing to do with policy. Which is rather interesting because the Clintons policy on former Yugoslavia was far from perfect, but the only thing we are hearing from our wonderful media is whether there was or wasn't sniper fire when Hillary landed.

If your degree was in Political Spin, I'd ask for your money back...

Can you trump 3 degrees, including a Masters, 10+ years as a consultant, and 11+ years in the military?

if so, congrats to you. If not, crawl back into your sit-and-spin...

Yep, she intentionally told a lie, one that she knew would never be refuted because she...only brought a freaking CBS news team and their cameras with her to Bosnia. Get a grip.

No kidding, Einstein. She did exaggerate, but that is long way away from deliberate lying as the bashers want us to believe.
I'll still take Hillary over Barack any day on real policy experience, not what the media thinks policy experience is, which is all about style and no substance. Barack has no policy experience, foreign or domestic. He wasn't even a very active Senator. I don't see any landmark policy legislations coming from his office. In state legislature, he was "present," aka lights on but noone at home 😛
I really don't want to vote for McCain this November, but it looks like the Democrats will make me by nominating that demagogue Obama.

btw wasnt this already kind of debunked weeks ago? I remember her blabbing about the big bad scary Bosnia trip with Sinbad. It was obvious from the start it was nothing like going into a real war zone. At least the parts she visited. Why she felt the need to lie is amusing. But typical for a politician.
