Anyone ever play this game?

It looks like it might be a decent Space sim - they did give it a 4 out of 5 even though the review was comical.

PC Accelerator Magazine (rip 2002) had the best most hilarious videogame review, especially for shitty games. They ripped into games way before other review sites and magazines started doing it. IGN and these other reviewer are mearly copycatting what PC Accelerator started.

Amiga Format predates that by a decade.

The X3 review was funny but they were also dead on.
The game is a little TOO open and free.

Imagine if you were playing Oblivion and nobody told you to take your amulet to the priest and they had a terrible interface to find the map and the quest log.
You would wander aimlessly and eventually get bored and give up.

But it is a nice change from Freelancer. Many folks loved the optional stuff in between the main campaign but there wasnt enough, and that annoying Miko would always bug you to help her out and keep the plot moving forward.
After you beat Freelancer it doesnt feel very satisfying to chase pirates or run trade goods anymore.

I understand EVE Online is a good alternative but it takes too long to get stuff. Its a long ass grind like most other MMO's.

I love this one cause of the description of all the events

This quote from it the article reminded of my below comment "Find Extreme Watersports CD. Throw it to the other side of the room again. Keep doing this 'til you get bored."

I also remember reading a review of a game where the guy listed his pros and cons in a similar fashion to this--i couldnt stop laughing
pros: can be fun to throw the disc against the wall
cons: disc can possibly shatter causing physical harm

Yahtzee is no longer working for the Escapist, he switched to PC Gamer US. 😱

All I saw was that he's going to be writing the backpage for PC Gamer. Nothing said he was leaving the Escapist. He just put up a new video at the Escapist yesterday.
