Better question. Why did digital cameras hit 8.25 MP?

I guess somebody might want to print a picture that is roughly the size of the floor plan of my house.
 
so if you take a pic of something that is eventually going to be cropped and blown up - you can still print at a decent size.

Or you might want to crop something like a pinhead, blow it up and read the Bible printed on the tip. 😀😀😀

Or you could print out a photo like THIS! and use it to keep the dogs & other undesirables out of the bathroom. 😀😀😀

Moving to NY in a month from Socal. I know, I know. BUt alot of the retailers reside here and not paying anything to the guvmint sure will be nice. At least until they start sucking tax dollars out of every internet purchase.
