hijackthis help

my system started acting up about a few hours ago. i don't know if it's from internal or external tampering, or if it's just one of those things that happens from time to time.

i've included the hijackthis log. can someone take a look at this and tell me if there's anything out of the ordinary?

Have you updated Avast, maxed out all the scanning options for the on-demand scanner, and run a scan? Anything detected? What are the symptoms that make you suspicious? Does this coincide with anything you did (new software installed, new questionable website visited, clicked a link in IM and got a strange result, etc)?

Also, is the system firewalled, and if this coincided with anything you did, were you logged on with an Administrator account at the time.

thanks for the response, and sorry for the delay in responding.

i've run windows defender, avast, spybot, and adaware, and i haven't noticed anything out the ordinary. someone i allowed access to the system was tinkering with the registry. as far as i can tell, i don't know what they've done.

the system does seem a bit sluggish, and it tends to pause randomly.

another oddity. firefox isn't right on other user accounts, while for some reason, it's fine on mine. the status bar on the bottom is about 7x it's height and it has a red "^" at right side of the status bar.

the system is firewalled from the outside.
