Hijacked Firefox home page

Open Firefox preferences by typing "about:config" (without the quotes) in the address field. Go to the "browser. startup. homepage" entry and change the url. Hopefully that works.

I Tryed that to no avail. The "browser. startup. homepage" entry is www.google.co.uk as it should be.

Well I'd also be concerned that you have a browser hijacker installed, or that your HOSTS file has been compromised.

I'd recommend you use my detailed spyware removal instructions here: http://theflyingpenguin.com/spyware-removal.shtml

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the advise unfortuatly all the tools Trojan Hunter, Microsoft's Free Anti-Spyware Beta, BHODemon, you suggested didn't find anything. I don't have any suspect BHO helper objects .
I use a custom hosts file to block 1000's of add/spy domains which is allways locked. The first thing I checked was to make sure it haden't been changed(it hadn't). I added the entry
127.0.0.1 www.jspin.com
to block it ever comeing up again.
I Don't think I have ever heard of Firefox being hijacked before, IE is unaffected
the site dosen't look like your tipical adds/spam site or crappy search engine. I Sent an email to the webmaster of the web site informing them, suprise suprise no reply Yet.
I could just try reinstalling firefox.
Any Suggestions are more than Wecome!

Try this: scan.txt As recommended, do the scan in Safe Mode. Even if it doesn't find your issue, it might find other stuff that AVG Free doesn't. Good luck!

Fixed it by deleting the user folder in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\vnz69snm.Default User
