Highpoint ATA problems

I am using a Samsung SV2042H 20Gb hard disk on a Highpoint HPT372 raid/ata device, in normal ATA mode, on a EPoX 8K5a2+ motherboard. The problem (which has only recently started occuring after installing graphics card - though i dont think this had anything todo with it as i am always very cautious when upgrading) is that when machine is started, the drives are detected after the initial system bios, it reports 3 connectors as no drive and the one as Samsung SV2042H, which is correct, but then the system refuses to boot after this and hangs on this screen.
A temporary fix is to power the machine down, shift the disk cable onto the other highpoint channel, boot up the system and it will boot no problem. However when machine is retarted or cold-booted the next day, the same problem occurs.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Do you have the Highpoint's BIOS setup correctly? Is it and the MB BIOS flashed to the latest? Is the HDD jumpered correctly? my $0.02
