Highlighting breaking links

Balt

Lifer
I'm glad to have highlighting back, but it seems to be messing up some links that contain the word to be highlighted.

Example

I verified that the link/formatting was typed correctly.

yea, so basically if you search for a word that is in a link, then when you read the thread the word you searched for is automatically highlighted, and all the links in the thread are broken.

That's right. If you need to use one of the links, then you have to delete the search words from the url and reload the page. It's a real nuisance (at least for me), and doesn't seem to be a priority on the "please, for the love of Mike, fix this" list. 🙁

Posted this to the Fusetalk site. Hopefully will be fixed in a newer release. It would be nice if there was an option to disable the highlighting on a page by page basis.

Agreed. I'm pretty sure they can turn it off all together because they've done so in the past; I just wish they'd do it now.

I believe this is fixed, can you guys confirm if not give me an example of how to recreate it.

Just as minendo said. It happens any time the term you searched for is actually in the URL of a link.

Another issue that the highlighting causes is when you search for something like C++ or DVD+R. The forums try to highlight the + but can't so you get an error page until you manually change the URL.
