I think the TV show is great, making my way through season 4 on netflix right now. Far better than the movie, especially in choreography. The special effects are still pretty meh but it's still a solid show.

i agree, i did like the show. in fact, aside from some aspects from the movie, i liked it better than the original movie.

the animated reboot was also kinda interesting. "highlander, search for vengeance".

Justin Lin - who has directed every Fast and the Furious movie since Tokyo Drift - is attached to direct the movie

What the fuck? Why didn't they just say he only directed Fast and Furious, the only movie since Tokyo Drift?

From the dawn of time we came; moving silently down through the centuries, living many secret lives, struggling to reach the time of the Gathering; when the few who remain will battle to the last. No one has ever known we were among you... until now. I am immortal, bitches!!

I thought this said "highlander robot" and that it was going to be a thread about a highlander robot vs that dude who cut his wifes head off for the quickening.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/107674-Twilight-Screenwriter-Penning-Highlander-Reboot

while Highlander being redone with modern special effects and good fight choreography (original sucked balls in this regard), i don't think i'd want anyone assosciated with twilight on it. that, and they'll probably use music other than queen.

the fact that the dude adapted the screenplay for twilight means precisely dick.

studio was like, let's give this to one of our best guys. hey man, you mind putting together a treatment of this for us? here's $600,000.

OK, maybe it's a girl. same thing.

The original was awesome, the sequals they screwed up bigtime. I think a reboot would be fine but they need to keep the sci fi to a more plausable idealogy like the original was. Not that immortality is plausable, but when you make them come from another planet like Highlander 2. it just makes it cheesy.

i wouldnt mind a Conan reboot either, but dunno how they could improve the original except take on the "Lore" to a new storyline.

Considering the Conan movie was more based off of the Kull stories, there's plenty of Conan stories from the original source (Robert E. Howard) that they could use or adapt. I think there is or maybe was a new Conan movie in the works or being planned though.

Considering the Conan stories was mostly based off Kull that's not saying much : p

Anyone else thinking that it will end up being Highlander meets The Matrix when it comes to the fight scenes?

Or perhaps Kill Bill? Immortal with sword beats who army of bad guys by himself.

i hope not. throughout every incarnation of the highlander series, the duel has always been a fairly sacred and ritualized act.

The people who are making the reboots were all in the teens at that time so they are reliving that period in their lives.

well how come its only the 80's teens doing so then? and how come the 60's teens made more original and good movies in the 80's and not 60's remakes?
