The whole of the UK, and actually that speeding incident was in Scotland. :) Anything over 100-110 is an instant license loss.

you think 100mph in a civic is scary? try 146.. if we went higher than that, id imagine that the whole car would fall apart Oo;;

I usually drive a little slower then speed limit then these speed demon driver behind me just zoom pass going +20 over the speed limit, too crazy man. :(

Where the hell was he able to do 160? It had to be north of the loop, because there's no way in hell that person could've done that south of the loop or in the loop, even with no traffic.

LMAO - Er yeah, who do you think invented the 'mile' measurement....

LOL....we are moving over to metric...we have been since the seventies...and should be finished in about half a decade or so....things move FAST around here y'know! :D

That guy is a nutcase!...not even on a motorway...just a dual carriageway. Almost all regular motorway drives would have gone past 100 in the fast lane on occasion.

Then you better not come to europe... germany especially. There are some autobahns were you have only two choices: Get stuck between huge trucks doing 50MpH (and coming very close to your rear end) or have a Benz, Audi or Bimmer breathing down your neck while your doing 100 MpH (which still isn't really fast enough for some). It's gotten better since fuel has become more expensive and generally the UK is much friendlier to drive in but you still drive faster than in the US.

One must also add though that the drivers education here in Germany is very strict and I have also done a highly recommended emergency handling course, especially a high speed evasive manouvre that I learnt saved my butt once (car wreck after an accident in the middle of the autobahn at night and me almost hitting it with with 80 MpH :| )

I know that road very well, and trust me it's very open and quiet road and VERY tempting/easy to just speed. There are loads of fatal accidents on that road, mainly due to lorries crossing the dual carriageway at intersections and cars going too fast into the side....... It's why they've been building flyovers on blackspots there.

As for the motorway, speeding in the outside lane is not uncommon, just don't like those white van guys doing it about 4 inches from the car in front.

Top speeds I have done:

114mph in mt 1998 Nissan Altima
125mph in a friends 5.0 mustang
138mph in a friends modded Acura RSX-S Type

On a side note, most people only hit these speeds for a mile or two, maybe three tops. I just came back from North Branch, New Jersey last week.
The rental comapny upped me to a Mitsubishi Diamante for an extra $5 a day. :)

On my way back home (6-7 hour drive) I had tha thing topped out at 130mph for like 40-45 miles straight, in the far left lane at night with no one in sight.
I am not saying I am Mario Andretti, but if you are going to brag about top speeds you should run them for more than just a "flying mile" :D

Hehehe!

Oh yeah..pic of my GPS with the top speed in case anyone was wondering if I was strecthing the truth. :)

That's a Garmin eTrex Legend right? They're inaccurate. For some odd reason, my GPS (same as yours) displays 205mph as my top speed and I KNOW my 97 Ford Escort isn't capable of that. It has a gas cut-off at 114mph. :(

I dont know how fast that is in mph.
It was pretty fast.
I probably won't do it again, I havent had it that long.
On the plus side: the engine still had a bit more in it and its fully standard!
No mods yet.

199km is a distance measurement, you meant to write 199kph or km/h.

199kph = 123.6mph
