Mine was around $700. Talked to my gf who lives in Malaysia......for the first time so I didn't know how to dial to an international number.....so I was "smart" enough to call the operator to assist me to connect the call.... and talked for about 8 hours. sigh. all of that was just 1 call.

My roommate once racked up a cell phone bill of $700 bucks

he was chasing after his currently GF. guess it payed off huh?

My wifes cousin racked up over $2000 calling the psychic hotline. He didn't realize that it was "For Entertainment Purposes Only." He has decided that he will pay them $25 a month until it is payed off... when his great-grandchildren are old and gray.

Long distance ISP charges. Calling Home --> ISP = Long Distance. Calling ISP --> Home NOT long distance. Damn Bellsouth. :disgust:

Indeed...although this was an ISP problem too since the number was supposed to be local or were told so. Anyway, we racked up a bill over $1000 dollars because I leave my internet connection running regardless of it being a 28.8 modem. Anyway it only took maybe 5 days, and then they hit us with the bill... Needless to say my parents hit the roof....

My old roommate racked up over $1,000 on the phone(not a cell phone, mind you) that was in my name. He paid off most of it, but still stuck me with about $150 in phone bills when we moved out.

My highest was about $130 on my Sprint cell phone... I went over big time on my $34.95 plan by talking to my g/f while I was vacationing in Hawaii. Time zone differences didn't help as when it was time for my evening minutes, it was already like 12AM back here.

About $1500US for long distance phone bill.

This was just after I first met my wife and she was in Australia and I was back in the US.
Unfortunately, this was also over 5 years ago and before the shockingly cheap international rates of today.
