I have a CPD-G400 and the limit is 1800 X 1440 but for some reason I can go higher than. (probably because I haven't installed my video card drivers). If I go higher than the 1800 X 1440 resolution limit, would this destroy my monitor/video card? Just scared because I bought this monitor for 450 bucks.. :frown:

I randomly get higher than the max 1600x1200 available on my monitor, sometimes I can go higher, sometimes I can't
When I try though, I get an "out of scan range" error on my monitor. I guess if it works it might be OK.

I've been told that one can reach insanely high resolutions (i.e. greater than 2048x1536) on some 19 and 21 inch CRTs; however, the refresh rate would be painfully low, such as 30Hz. Things should not be distorted at that resolution, but you will probably not get a whole lot of extra detail for the pain.
