Is there going to be a P3 faster then 1000mhz. And will it support the Intel 1815

there are new p3's coming out. forgot what the codename was. someone can tell you. i think the i815 wont be supporting it. they have new .13micron die's and stuff. could be mistaken.

Possibly, but it will be a 0.13 micron part only. Perhaps may only appear in mobile form, depends on how fast the P4 really ramps (it's been pulled way ahead, but also will require 0.13 and 300mm wafer to achieve the needed mass production economics).

The codename is Coppermine-T, aka Tualatin, 0.13, 133MHz, 512KB L2 cache version of the P3, not supported by i815.

LXi. Sadly, the 512k is only for the mobile version...
only 256K for desktop

Nobody seems really too sure at what speed the Tualatin, or Coppermine-T will be introduced.

The current i815(E/P) cannot support the Tualatin, nor will current motherboards. As is currently stands, the i815EG or i815B chipsets will support the Tualatin, probably combined with the new VRM version 9.0. Current Coppermines use VRM 8.4.

I think Degenerate is right. That lame-ass 1.13GHz may reappear. Flame broiled!

That was fantastic Wingz.

I heard somewhere the Tuli' was suppose to have a 200Mhz FSB, any idea if that's true? (Not directed at you Wingz, though if you care to answer...;) no I'm kidding I know you can't)

Wingznut Pez,

I know you're on the inside so I won't argue. I thought that the 1.13GHz with the existing .18um Coppermine core was to be reintroduced. If I'm wrong please correct me.

By the way, I still have a BX board. Is there ANY chance that I'll be able to pop in an Intel chip after the PIII Coppermine? If not, when do you think I should buy a new processor? I'd like to replace a PIII700 with the fastest available (1 GHz or better) when the prices hit bottom before they start to disappear from the distribution channels and get more expensive again.

Thanks.

Well i think the 1.13 will be 0.13

i think Intel needs to release 1.3+ in their new p3 and some others to fill the gap since the p4 sale arent super.... and the price...

They also should consider 1.7 p4 now..
