does anyone know why my idle temps dont go below like 48.... everyones are in the lower 40's or even upper 30's... and i have the alpha 8045, 2nd best heatsink next to swifty 462.... why are they so high.. also have a Panaflo H1A 39cfm and 32db... i uninstalled the heatsink because i thought i put too few AS3 on and cleared that AS3 and added a little more than before.. still the same temps... like 50idle and 58 full load with prime...... wtf... i also have very good case cooling.. my overclocks arent that high.. only 141fsb at 1.85 volts... hmmm... i didnt pay for a 35$ heatsink for the temps to be like a stock heatsink.. anyone know what the problem is?

my room temps are around 75-80f and case temps are from 26-33 ... 33 being at full load with prime95 running and 27 being idle
also the thermistor or whatever the temp measuring probe is called sits right under the cpu core processor.. i think it touches it

... but i went into to bios and lowered the voltage from 1.85 to 1.75 and temps lowered 6 degrees.. now full load is at 52 celcius... this is still too high considering i have one of the best heatsinks .. i also removed the little cover that holds the fan on the heatsink cuz i really didnt need it.. and on the side.. i put my exhaust fan to make it intake.. now its screams

You should probably post this in the cooling forum. I've got an xp1700+ with stock heatsink and AS3 on an epox 8kha+ with one 80mm intake and one 80mm exhaust and my full load temps are about 46C, so it definitely doesn't sound right. Are the temps coming from MBM or bios? Do you have the fan blowing into or away from the heatsink? Alpha suggests having it blow away from the heatsink. I would try a stronger fan. That's a big heatsink to cool, and most of the reviews I have seen of it have been with 60 or 80 cfm fans.

the temps are coming from Hardware Monitor... i had MBM before... but hardware monitor displays same temps as MBM.. the fan is blowing on the heatsink..... its 39cfm.. thats fairly good, iv seen people have it with L1A fans at 24cfm and have lower temps...
EDIT: I just turned the fan around.. the idle temp is 48c/54c load currently... still too high.. damn it whats wrong..

You know what, I just put 2 Panaflo H1As on the heatsink each 39CFM and its 42 Degree's celcius idle... havent got full laod temps yet... well it produces kind of a screaming sound now... but its cool and provides 80CFM on the heatsink... no wonder these heatsink that come with a fan, have a DELTA ULTRA thats 80CFM...
