High Temps (50-60C) on ASUS p67 Sabertooth

So yesterday was the first time I saw this problem. I was playing assassin's creed 3 and a notification popped up saying my PCIe-1 slot (my gtx460) was at 60C Other temps were around 50-55C. I was playing at night, all my windows open around 18-19C in my room.

graphics card is not overclocked

Is this normal during gameplay? I haven't had a problem in a week. My setup is as follows: The top fan blows down. The h60 fan is push/pull and pulls air from inside to the outside (I Initially installed it into a pull/pull fan so the fan on the h60 is actually flipped over now). And 1 120mm front intake. And a 50mm motherboard fan.

My system:
i5 2500k 4.5 ghz 1.310v with h60
asus p67 sabertooth
8gb corsair vengeance
corsair 750w
PNY gtx 460 not oc-ed

Have you considered flipping the top fan and maybe adding another up front? Is your front intake sucking into the PSU compartment in the bottom? I'm just wondering if you're not getting much of a draft from the front of the case to the back (across the mb) because the top fan is drawing air in and it's getting immediately expelled through your H60 exhaust.

You get notifications about PCI-E slot temps??? How do you do that? That's not a normal part of Windows.

The Sabertooth has a whole slew of extra temp sensors and a software suite for the user to monitor (play with :))

TUF Thermal Radar

Real Time Temp Detection and Heat Removal
The TUF Thermal Radar monitors temps in critical parts of the motherboard in real time, automatically adjusting fan speeds to make sure the system maintains high stability without overheating. It consists of multiple sensors for various components on the motherboard, giving users the ability to monitor each one individually. The Thermal Radar automatically calculates ideal fan speeds based on different parameters selected by users for each component, keeping everything cooler and longer lasting.

So, let me get this straight... You have a front intake, top intake, rear intake... where does the air go? If you don't give it an outlet, then the fans will be spinning, but it won't move much air. Try turning one of the fans around, probably the top fan, to make it an exhaust.

LOOOL found the problem... the 50mm motherboard fan was on pull. So it wasn't pushing air under the armor. ;) i'm genius. Also put the top as exhaust. Thanks for the inputs!

What it looks like now and much more acceptable to me:

Glad that was found. Was scratching my head after reading your problem since air flow should have been fine otherwise.

I'll have to get a fan for my armor. I've also seen that thing a few times under furmark. Granted I dismiss it because I know the twin 6950's do put out a ton of heat and there aint much room left in the p182 after you put them in there.

What 50mm fan did you choose for the armor? There aren't many "reviews" out there for 50mm fans... so I figured asking a fellow owner might be a good idea!

I have a similar setup but no 50mm fan. What triggered installing the 50mm?
I was told the Sabertooth should easily run in standard setup if things are not overclocked...?

yeah it can. I did OC my cpu to 4.5ghz at 1.310v. ASUS also recommends the 50mm fan so why not.
