high temp on my athlon ???

is 55°C to high for my athlon 1.2 ghz on 100% cpu load??
i'm using a generic crap cpu/fan and one case fan for the moment

I believe AMD states that the "official" max temperature is 90 Celsius.

On the other hand, alot of people who mention it try to keep their CPU running at < 50 Celsius.

I'd get a new HSF when possible, but I don't think your CPU will die in the mean time.

55C load doesn't sound too bad. if you're using a generic hsf, you should think about getting a new hsf if you want cooler temps.
