High speed 80-min CDRWs

It seems these things are impossible to find. I have a few 10x 80-min CDRWs, but I would like to find some that I can write faster, preferably up to 24x. Does anyone know where I can find these?

Memorex 80m 24x CDRW are widely available. Search for 32023426 on froogle or pricegrabber. The equivalent from Verbatim generally seems limited to Europe.

I can't believe it. I ordered these from ShopperWiz.com last Friday morning and they arrived at 11:40 this morning! Shipping was 97 cents for FedEx. That beats even Newegg!

Ok, now I'm having a problem burning these @ rated speed. My burner will do it: Yamaha CRW-F1. It's rated up to 24x, but always locks in @ 10x. Nero and Alcohol 120% both burn @ 10x, with Alcohol giving me the info that 24x is an illegal speed for this disc... what gives?

Try turning off Optimum(sp?) Write Control in Nero. I have the same burner and it wouldn't let me burn some high speed CDRWs (Memorex) at 24x. It would only burn them at 4x. Turned OWC off and it burned at 24x

I gave that a try and it still forces it to 10x. I tried setting that option in Alcohol 120% and it also defaults to 10x. Is there a registry setting I can change for this or a different firmware?

I burn 'em at 24x with Nero/InCD and and HLG combo drive. Check for a Nero update first, then firmware.

I gave Nero 6.3.0.3 a shot but they still burn @ 10x... anyone else have this drive and high speed cdrw media?

Hmm, I can burn 12x TDK discs without a problem (Nero 5.5 and XP's built-in burning using a 52x24x52 Lite-On drive). Anyone know of a B&M that has 24x CD-RWs?

Heck, I can't even burn 12x. My discs only manage 10x, just like my old ones did (though they were actual 10x discs).
