I do not think I will be going back to any high school reunion of mine. I've arrested several classmates and/or their parents. I think that is all the update I need.

You don't have any responsibility to these people. If they want a reunion they can organize it themselves.

My high school days were fantastic and I was a total geek. My generation (class of 2003 and probably most of the years around mine) grew up in an environment where people realized that intelligence is actually a really good trait to have. It was easy to mingle with any crowd you wanted if you knew how to play it cool. Being a smart kid in high school was a lot more awesome than being a jock. I got invited to the keggers AND the LAN parties. I did a fair amount of acting and tech theatre too, so I went to the bizarre artsy parties the most (and those were the best, a few of the theatre kids were ridiculously rich, the school was in a middle class neighborhood and there simply wasn't an "upper class" school).

Regardless, if college wasn't the best 4+ years of your life then you really did something wrong. More freedom + more booze + more sex + a degree that MEANS something = WIN. I wasn't in a frat or anything, you don't need to be outgoing at all to take advantage of your college years. High school is lame by several orders of magnitude compared to college.

The one that really stands out in my mind:

Went to Middle School and High School with this kid...we will call him Mike. Mike was well liked by the women, but was heavy into causing problems/grabbing attention/partying. He even nicknamed me, in a friendly way, Big momma Jeff. I dont know why, but he did.

All through high school, he was generally ignorant and ran his mouth, but the girls liked the badasses I guess, so he always had a hot g/f.

After I graduated, I never heard from him or about him, which was fine with me. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I responded to a call at his house for a violent domestic. I arrived on scene, and see mom pulling up behind me. She says she has no idea what is going on, but that her husband called her saying her son was going crazy. I look at the front door and notice the glass that was once there is now shattered, on the floor. As I begin to move towards the house, some young lady comes running out crying, saying her b/f has just hit her with a bat and is now beating his dad with it. I radio for the other units to speed up their response and enter the house. Mike is now walking toward me empty handed and looking calm. I see dad come around the corner...his face is a mess. It looks like someone shoved his face into a garbage disposal unit...one of those really expensive ones.

Well, after I talk with everyone, Mike had apparently gotten mad over the fact that his g/f accused him of smoking pot and decided it would be a good time to attack. Dad moved in to defend said g/f, the fight between the two began. It moved outside, where Mike grabbed a bat and began to swing...dad retreated into the house, Mike followed, smashing the glass to get through the door and began to hit his dad and g/f with the bat. He put it down once he realized police arrived.

Needless to say, I arrested him and took him to jail. I knew exactly who he was the moment I saw him, if he remembered me he didn't say a word, which is fine. Apparently, he had become quite the heroin addict and smoked a ton of MJ once he had kicked that habit. At the ripe old age of 24, he had already began to lose his hair and get a belly I did not think possible on him, as he was always skinny.

So yeah, like I said, attending my HS reunion is not a priority of mine.

Our HS class has a reunion every five years and it's organized by our class officers. I've yet to attend one yet but everyone says it's a good time.
