High rise vs house..

What's your preference? Say you're a single person with the finances to live in either one in a major city or suburb area.

I've always wanted to live in a nice high rise building over looking the SF bay or something, while I still have no kids or one kid..if I ever get more then I'd probably start looking into a house.

High rise for sure. You can always get a house later.

House in the city, the idea of being young and not wandering over to a friends house without bugging parents to drive them or not having places to hang out sounds like a good way to grow up a isolated wingnut from the 'burbs.

(Houses in SF have yards FYI, you cannot see them from the street though)

Why's it so hard to believe? Less maintenance, no property fees, less need for security etc..

house, no noisy neighbors directly above or next to you...atleast there's a yard to seperate

I like the ameneties and view the high rise I live in has a lot.

I also don't have the additional $400K that a house would cost anywhere near where I want to live.
