High quality PSU for a 7970 rig

Hi guys,

I'm not going to tell you my sob story, but somehow I managed to kill my Seasonic X-750 and need a new PSU. This is the rig it's going into:

Core i7 980@4GHz
24GB RAM
HD7970 - 1150+ core/1600 mem
3 hard drives
1 SSD
a gazillion of bus powered USB and 1394 devices.

So far I'm leaning towards Cooler Master V700, because it's made by Seasonic, gets glowing reviews and is relatively cheap for what it is. But my gut tells me to just get another X-750. Then again, my gut is often wrong 🙂...

Only Lithuanian shops. I'll just list the more known brands that are available: Antec, Be Quiet, Chieftec, Cooler Master, Corsair, Enermax/LEPA, FSP, NZXT, Seasonic, Silverstone. Anything these companies make is either available right away, or can be ordered and will arrive within a month.

Which Lithuanian shops? Any of them have a website?

I'm not asking because of what brands are available, but rather to compare prices between similar quality units.

How long have you had your X750? If it's less than 5 years, you might be able to warranty it.

One of the things that I love about the X-750 is the fact that it will run fanlessly until about 30% load. As long as I'm not gaming or doing anything really intensive, the PSU is completely silent.

Yeah, the V700 is a good pick. It's plenty powerful for your rig and over 100 Lt cheaper than X-750 at Skytech.lt. The only option really is LEPA G750-MAS for 343 Lt (the OEM is CWT, which is not Seasonic or Superflower, but it's good).

The other shop you linked didn't really have anything competitive to offer.

Yeah I'd use the warranty, but I have no papers.

Thanks. Looks like I'll have to give myself an inadvertent Christmas present.

Given the X series were released in early 2010/late 2009, all of them should still be within the warranty period. It's worth asking them to check based on the serial number.

I'm also curious as to what you did to it!
