I need advice for a new scanner for high quality photo scanning. I would like to stay under $300.00, but could go more if it is nessesary. Please give either personal experience of different scanners or references to reputable reviews and comparisons, not just--"this is what I own so it is the best". :) Thanks!!!

AFAIK the Epson Perfection is the ideal scanner. I have read a lot of reviews and customer feedback and it seems to take the cake.

I second the recommendation for Epson scanners. The quality between the different Epson models isn't that noticable. The main difference is speed.

Check out the Epson Prefection 1200U photo. It's the best bang for the bucks. It's spec looks even better than our Agfa DuoScan 1200T, which is a professional level flatbed. I'm saving for the Epson 1600 Pro right now.
