What the hell do you guys do with your wallets? I've always bought standard $20 leather wallets and each of them have lasted 3 years or more before looking worn / falling apart.

You need to use them for them to get worn.

Define use. My wallet holds paper money, plastic cards, and occasionally folded receipts, and resides in my back right pocket. When removed from the pocket, it is opened, cards or money are removed, then re-inserted, and the wallet is returned to the pocket.

Its a wallet, not a hockey puck.

When do you take it out, like once a week when you pitch in for the family night out?

I use my wallet a lot, getting 2 years is pushing it. I usually spend about $60-80 on my wallets.

They aren't meant to be long-lasting accessories though.

Do you always have to insult someone to get a point across?

I use my wallet every single day and it's still in near perfect condition after over a year. What exactly are you doing with your wallet to destroy it in 2?

Love my Coach wallet. Got it for super cheap when it was on sale at the outlets. It's very well made.

I'll second this. Mine is three years old and will last many more years. Corners are a little frayed, but thats to be expected.

My wallet isn't a wallet. It was a secondary piece in a tri-fold that was supposed to be for pictures. Instead I use it primarily because the only thing I carry is driver's license and debit card. It is as small as you'll ever get a wallet and has lasted for I don't even know how long.

Get a $2 bright orange nylon Velcro wallet. They last longer, and you don't have to worry about the cost when you do replace it.
This, except for the "replace it" part.

Mine is maroon, not orange, but it did cost $2. The velcro doesn't work so good anymore but the wallet is holding up well to daily use and multiple trips through the washing machine. I bought it when I was in eighth grade so that makes it thirty years old now.

My $20 giovanni valentino wallet/belt combo has held up well for 3.5 years. However, that department store is 3000 miles away, so you may have a difficult time finding it in stock in your location.

video on their passport wallet.

Came here to post this. I love my id wallet and my dad has the medium bifold (I bought him for christmas). It will seriously last me a lifetime. I love how it breaks in too. I want one of his belts, and a bag too.

I have a Tumi leather wallet I bought during one of their online sales about 5-6 years ago. I probably spent $75 on it. It still looks like new. It's by far nicer than any wallet I've ever had.

My leather wallet is still going strong after >10 years. The stamp inside says 'Rowallan'. I can't remember where I bought it in London but I suspect I would have paid up to £50 UKP then for something I wanted to last. My only criticism for the wallet is that it's a little large for a back pocket, but hasn't caused me a serious problem.

- edit - tricked as well :)
