Hello,
I'm trying to find a good motherboard for the highperformance system wwith the following requirements :
1. Support more then 4 GB memory ( prefer up to 16/32 ).
2. 2 IDE connectors.
3. More than 4 SATA connectors
4. AMD, 64 bit proc.
5. PREFERENCE to mATX, but that's optional

Please advise.
thank you

I went with SATA converters for my optical drives. I was frustrated because the IDE cable barely stretched to reach it on my last 3 motherboards. Works great, plus if you run out of motherboard SATA ports you can always get a PCI card. SATA converters are pretty cheap. Just though I would mention it since you will limit yourself in looking for a new mobo with 2 ide connectors.

Yeah - same problem.
It's a good idea you had - by doing this you also increased a performance on your IO subsystem.
But i want to have 2 cause they are hndled by 2 controllers and thus do not have a bus bottlenecking it.
