high feature msi p67 atx mobo $55 ar/fs/ac @sbiz

You can get a celeron G440 to update your bios to support IVB 😛 Latest bios update for IVB is 6/8/12 for this board. I doubt it will have it installed.

but being an atx board it's not 1st choice for an htpc... but as a file server, maybe...

Wow that's a really good price for a board with some nice features.
Hmmm......damn you Hot Deals section. Now I might have to spend some money to upgrade my sons system that uses a Biostar H61MLC board.:\

Take $5.00 using coupon POCKY6755 to take it to $54.99 AR-AC.

Might find a 1% or so cash back if you look around too! 🙂

Ahhh....damn you guys for tempting me. I hate this section. It seems like everytime I come in here I spend money.🙁

Board will be here in 7-10 days. It will make a fun little project for my son and I to do together. $60 is a small price to pay for a couple of hours of quality time spent with my son. Thanks Guys.🙂

Thinking of jumping on this deal. I can get $50 off a motherboard at Micro Center if I bundle with an i5-2500k. Is there a better motherboard there that will be worth bundling and the $50 off?

Just received it yesterday, the motherboard is dead. Tested with G530, different power supplies, memory, and video cards--no luck... Now, nedd to spend $ to RMA it.
There is a reason it's sold so cheap!

bummer... i would see if msi will pay shipping... i have never had a doa msi product...

Just an FYI to anybody who bought this board to use with a G530 cpu or any Sandy Bridge Celeron.
The bios needs to be revision 1.e or later. My board shipped with version 1.b so it wont support it despite the description saying it supports 1155 cpu's.🙁

Sigh....overall it's a really nice board and I love the look/features just wish I knew about the BIOS issue before I bought it.

Edit:Here is a thread I have going over on the MSI forums detailing the BIOS issue.

Thanks for the info!
I ask MSI support about G530 compatibility "out of the box", and they were clueless...

Do you know if 1.b BIOS supports i5-2500K?

While I do see the documentation which shows 1.e, I do see a lot of people on the MSI global forums appear to be running a 25800k without 1.e

The consensus on the forums seems to be that you want 1.D, supposedly the most stable and feature filled bios with some bug fixes. In later bioses they fixed something but broke something else. For more information do a search on the board for their site and you will find it.

I will be finding out today if I can run a 2500k on the board as is, hopefully I can as I do not have another LGA 1155 to use nor do I know someone with one.

Does anyone know of a cheap CPU I can buy that is compatible so I can update the bios? New/Used doesn't matter as long as it's cheap.

Edit:After asking more questions over at MSI it looks like the i5 2500k will boot with the 1.b BIOS. Or it should but nobody is 100% sure.🙄 The cheapest option if you don't have an i series CPU is the i3 2100. But at $120 that really isn't an option for me.
Looks like this bad boy is going back to SuperBiiz.

I don't get why this board wouldn't post with a Sandy Bridge CPU.

Wasn't P67 made for Sandy Bridge in the first place?

You would think that would be the case but apparently it isn't.
There must be some minor differences between the Core i3/5/7 Sandy Bridge and the Celeron Sandy Bridge that this MB needed an update to handle.

Posts fine with the i5 2500k here.

Change to ACHI or RAID before installing windows, I had an issue after changing in the bios and it corrupted my windows installation.

Getting good stock numbers on this board with my 670 sli. Windforce is happy for the spacing. Cheers.

Mine posts fine with a 2500K as well. I bought mine at Superbiiz last week and it too came with the 1.B BIOS according to the little green sticker on top of the BIOS chip.

If you update, update to 1.D, it has some improvements on the USB items the board will tolerate at boot. 1.E and up have a bug if you overclock beyond 40x.
